Textum OPCO, LLC is hiring Weavers for it's Belmont, NC weaving facility.

At Textum we thrive on developing innovative fabric and multi-dimensional preform solutions for our customers which help to advance their programs and push their technologies to the next level. We have unique expertise in developing textile solutions for extreme environments that we are leveraging for specialty composite production. The industries that we serve include aerospace, space, defense, energy, and infrastructure. Whether it's thermal protection systems for space vehicles, preforms for CMC components, or preforms and fabrics for carbon-carbon processing, we have the experience and expertise to help ensure our customer's success both as a reinforcement provider and through delivery of finished parts.

We are looking for qualified Weavers to support development and production activities related to advanced textile manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience working around manufacturing equipment and have knowledge of safe plant operations. They will be expected to maintain safety and productivity while working within a quality system, and they will support all aspects of production from supply chain management, to part production, and final delivery. The Weaver will perform a wide variety of hands-on activities including, but not limited to: hand weaving, loom operation, and material handling.

This is a full-time, direct hire position for 3rd shift hours (11pm - 7 am)

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Wears PPE in accordance with company policy (Steel Toe Shoes & Earplugs).

  • Operates production equipment to produce products in accordance with safety, quality, & projected company goals as related to company expectations.
  • Produces assigned products in accordance with verbal and written instructions.
  • Completes equipment set ups in accordance with machine & style specifications.
  • Inspects product on cycle and documents findings as needed.
  • Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas.
  • Adheres to all established policies and procedures of safety, quality and production.
  • Notifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and/or personal injuries.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with weaving is a significant advantage
  • General mechanical/technical aptitude and good manual dexterity required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment autonomously and under pressure and complete all assigned tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and perform basic math calculations
  • Ability to solve problems using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks
  • Can work well with others in a diverse group and foster a cooperative work environment
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machinery
  • Ability to READ, WRITE and SPEAK ENGLISH IS REQUIRED
  • Excellent physical condition and endurance.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee will be on their feet for the duration of their shift.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and smell.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a drug test
