Job Summary Description / Primary Purpose Of Job This entry-level position supports software development initiatives under the guidance of senior developers and technical leads. The Junior Software Developer (or Intern) assists with coding, testing, and documenting software applications while gaining practical experience with development methodologies and modern technologies. This role provides an opportunity to develop technical skills and contribute to real-world projects in a collaborative environment.
Job Responsibilities/Results - Assist in coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and deploying software solutions under supervision
- Work closely with senior developers and project teams to learn and apply best practices in software development
- Participate in team meetings, including Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups and sprint planning
- Support the development and maintenance of internal and external applications
- Learn and apply software development tools, techniques, and standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues with guidance
- Document processes, code changes, and application features as needed
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional groups to support project objectives
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
Education Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
Experience - Previous internship, academic projects, or personal development experience in software development preferred
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, Python, or Java
- Basic understanding of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks)
Knowledge / Technical Requirements
- Basic understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles
- Familiarity with databases and writing simple queries (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL)
- Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Interest in learning modern development tools and frameworks (e.g., .NET, RESTful APIs, Angular, or React)
- Willingness to learn about Agile development and the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Salary And Other Compensation The target pay rate for this position is between $18 – 22 /hr. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
