In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Lead the research and development of innovative oligo synthesis techniques and instrumentation. + Leverage your breadth of expertise to deliver transformative capabilities for IDT's oligo synthesis platforms, from initial ideation to implementation in a manufacturing environment. + Effectively communicate and facilitate technical collaborations with internal stakeholders, business partners, and customers + Mentor and train other team members in new technologies + Other duties as assigned The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related science field. + Minimum of 7+ years laboratory research using nucleic acids (cloning, oligo synthesis, PCR, NGS, CRISPR or similar) required. + Oligo synthesis process or related research experience, especially in emerging technologies (e.g. novel chemical, enzymatic, array or microfluidics) Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: + Ability to travel 10% time domestically + Ability to occasionally lift, move or carry equipment up to 10lb + Ability to frequently work in a laboratory environment for extended periods It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Advanced degree (master's or PhD) in life science (biology, molecular biology, genetics, chemistry, biochemistry) or a related field + Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python) + Demonstrated experience with hybridization capture or amplicon sequencing NGS protocols The salary range for this role is $170,000-$190,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
