Job Summary:
Directs personnel involved in establishing, promoting, and maintaining resorts security and property
protection programs by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
• Establishes operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention and firefighting, traffic
control, guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel
involved with classified information, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
• Confers with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of
resort activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
- Enforce all existing resort policies, rules and regulations.
- Ensures all Security standards are properly followed.
- Reviews all reports completed by Security officers to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
- Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
- Ensures thorough and complete investigation for all incidents incurred by guests and associates
(i.e. losses, thefts, accidents, and acts of violence).
- Maintains guest room surveillance procedures. (Outside only.)
- Maintains an effective key control program.
- Ensures that shift personnel are properly assigned at all times.
- To provide a safe and secure environment for both guests and associates.
- Correlate C.P.R. Training.
- Monitor lost and found.
- Report writing.
- Oversee parking regulations; ensure all associate vehicles have parking sticker.
- Insure all security associates are properly certified as per N.Y.S. requirements.
- Assure the ongoing training of all security associates in a timely fashion.
- Operative within established budgetary guidelines.
- Protect all resort property, against theft and/or destruction.
- Maintain an open dialogue with members of the Security Department.
- Administer discipline in a fair, consistent and equitable fashion.
- Be open and prepared to adjust policies and procedures to changing times and conditions.
- Interview candidates and select security associates as needed, to maintain an efficient and
effective staff.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word, Power Point, E-mail
and MS Excel & MS access experience. Name badge & identification programs.
Certificates and Licenses:
NYS License Certification to maintain & operate a security department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages four subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 15 to 22 employees in the Security. Is
responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities
include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising
performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience:
• Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
