Job Title: Phlebotomist (Medical Technician - Phlebotomist)

Job Summary:
We are hiring a Phlebotomist to perform both inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy services. This includes Emergency Department (ED), STAT, and timed draws, accurate patient identification, sample collection, and processing while ensuring compliance with CAP, The Joint Commission, and VA standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, process, and prepare blood and other specimens for laboratory testing
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection following proper techniques
• Verify patient identity, ensuring accuracy in sample labeling and processing
• Maintain and operate phlebotomy equipment in a sterile environment
• Communicate with patients, nurses, and lab staff to ensure smooth workflow
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations

Requirements: Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience

Certification:

• Phlebotomy Technician certification (preferred)

Training:

• VA Privacy, HIPAA, and Information Security compliance
