Job Description

Starfleet is hiring a Dispatcher with fuel delivery experience for our South Florida location. We are a dynamic, growth-oriented distributor of lubricants and fuels to wholesale, retail, and commercial end-user markets throughout Florida.

We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher to join our team! In addition to dispatching, the ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, accountability, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to excellence. The candidate will be routing deliveries, tracking vehicles, performing account maintenance, and addressing problems and requests as well as providing solutions. Heavy interactions with drivers, customers, and office staff. Please see the responsibilities/requirements of this position below:

Responsibilities:

• Dispatch deliveries in an efficient and profitable manner.
• Ability to communicate with drivers, customers, peers, and management.
• Maintain and review driver DOT logs.
• Monitor vehicle tracking system (Samsara) software.
• Establish cost-effective delivery routes and schedules.
• Establish performance standards for drivers.
• Review driver delivery paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain relationships with customers and resolve delivery complaints.
• Investigate and resolve delivery issues, spills, and accidents.
• Must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends, dispatch is a 24-hour operation, and therefore this position may require irregular hours when the rotation is scheduled.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience dispatching and or supervising drivers.
• Experience with vehicle tracking systems, order entry, and dispatching software.
• Knowledge of DOT rules/regs, transport trucks, and e-logs.
• In addition to being an excellent communicator, the ideal candidate will also demonstrate superb organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to answer multiple phone calls in a busy setting.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Accurate data entry.
• Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
