Position Overview
The Organizational Development & Effectiveness Manager is a strategic internal business partner responsible for delivering high-impact solutions that improve individual, team, and organizational effectiveness. This new role, reporting to the Head of HR, will work closely with leaders and functional teams and will play a critical role in driving growth and success by aligning the organizational capabilities and programs with the Company’s strategic goals and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Consulting & Solution Design
- Identify organization and talent capabilities that are currently required, as well as for the future. Develop an effective approach to address capability gaps. Apply organizational design methodologies, programs, tools, and resources. Consult on team structure and role design. Ensure alignment between organizational strategy, workforce capabilities, and operating models.
- Drive cultural alignment by identifying behaviors, systems, and processes that need to evolve to support business growth.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in organizational development and incorporate innovative approaches to enhance the Company’s effectiveness.
- Align capabilities with the Company’s goals to improve overall performance.
Design and Implement Talent Programs
- Recruitment: Identify key positions and talent pipelines to mitigate talent gaps.
- Onboarding: Create an onboarding program that integrates new employees into the organization.
- Training and Development: Completing a talent capabilities assessment and developing plans to close gaps. Provide opportunities for employees to enhance their skills and advance their careers. Develop and implement comprehensive talent metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of talent development.
- Performance Management: Evaluate and design the Company’s performance management program, to include criteria and process.
- Succession Planning: Preparing for future leadership and critical role vacancies by identifying and developing potential successors. Design and execute a robust talent assessment process to identify and develop high-potential employees, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Strategy Development and Execution
- Manage initiatives from intake through execution, ensuring clear scope, timelines, and accountability.
- Track outcomes and impact using agreed-upon measures of success.
Change Management
- Serve as a change agent by championing new initiatives, promoting organizational resilience, and addressing resistance to change through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and facilitate change management training to build capabilities across all levels of the organization. Define and track change success metrics, ensuring change efforts deliver measurable impact and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
- Organizational Design/Development Certification and/or Certification in Change Methodology. Strong understanding of organizational design/development principles (including operating models, governance and organization structure design and role design) with proficiency in organizational design and development tools and software.
- A minimum of eight years of related experience in talent, performance, and change management, organizational design/development, process improvement, and strategic workforce planning.
- Proven experience in talent planning, talent assessments, succession planning and workforce planning.
- Proficiency in data analytics and the use of tools to derive actionable insights for talent planning.
- Ability to right-size analytical tools and frameworks in support of discovery, design, and recommendations (financial or cost analysis, ROI analysis, workforce analysis and planning, process design and analysis, etc.)
- Systematic thinking and organizational design skills, looking to understand the interconnectedness of the organization and ability to select the levers to pull to lead desired outcome(s).
- Strong consulting and facilitation skills with previous experience presenting to senior leadership.
- Advanced skill set in Microsoft Office products.
- Demonstrated experience leading workforce transformation initiatives.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to influence others and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Strong project management, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills to work effectively with leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
