Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

Greenhouse – care for plants in greenhouse. Plant, weed, fertilize, water

Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities

Assist with field research- collect plant samples, label, flag, stake

Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities

Assist with basic lab protocols- Phytophthora isolation, Xylella isolation, DNA extraction, etc.

Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities

Assist with basic lab maintenance and chores – wash glassware, autoclave supplies, prepare basic solutions and media, take away trash, etc.

Individual will provide greenhouse assistance to include potting, fertilizing, inoculating and watering plants. Individual will assist in keeping greenhouse space neat, orderly and weed free. Individual will assist with basic field research as requested to include collecting plant samples, inoculating plant samples, setting up field studies including labeling and placing flags, stakes and markers. Individual will assist with basic lab protocols as requested and will be responsible for basic lab maintenance and chores including washing glassware, preparing simple solutions, preparing media, autoclaving supplies and waste, taking trash to dumpster, etc.to keep laboratory space neat, orderly and clean.

High school diploma preferred
