Summary

CHS is looking for a Hazmat Driver to join our team! This individual can be based out of Sioux Falls or Yankton, SD. The job will entail delivering propane and fuel to our customers locally and regionally. We have two schedules we are looking to fill, one is a Mon- Fri and the other is a Tues- Sat. Our deliveries take place during the daytime, and include a mix of local and regional routes. There may be some occasions throughout the week where the driver is overnight in the truck for 2-4 days at a time. Some Saturday work may be required during certain times of year. This role is eligible for a $3,000 sign on bonus. $1500 will be paid after 30 days, and an additional $1500 after 1 year in the role. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and on time deliveries to our customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws. To include but not limited to pre-trip and post-trip reporting, proper load securement and hours of service.
  • Assist in the warehouse when not delivering product.
  • Work extended hours in-season to meet business demands.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
  • Assist warehouse staff and perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Class A CDL with Hazmat Endorsement
  • 2+ years of CDL Driving experience
  • Must meet minimum age requirement
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English and understand highway traffic signs and signals

Additional Qualifications

 

  • Must meet DOT and Company requirements
  • Ability to work additional hours and occasional Saturdays to meet business demands
  • Bulk liquid experience preferred
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse.

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 80 lbs, walk, stand, sit, bend, and kneel

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
