Freight Forwarding Sales Executive

• Location: Fairfax, VA
• Work Model: Onsite; 5 Days a Week
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
• US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident Status Required

Summary

Our client is seeking a Freight Forwarding Sales Executive to join their team! The ideal candidate will lead efforts to develop new commercial business within the U.S. This role requires a proactive, results-driven individual with a strong ability to identify new clients and sell logistics solutions. Collaboration with the operations team is essential to ensure seamless service implementation and support growth objectives.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to secure new clients
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing logistics solutions and support
• Develop and execute growth strategies focused on financial gain and revenue targets
• Conduct daily business development meetings with prospective clients
• Collaborate with operations management to align client needs with company objectives
• Follow up with new clients to ensure a smooth onboarding and service implementation
• Perform market research to identify new pipeline opportunities
• Present and demonstrate the value of products and services to potential buyers

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven sales success in freight brokerage, logistics, freight forwarding, specialized freight, or ground transportation
• Demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth
• Highly organized and proactive with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Willingness to travel locally for client visits
• 1-2 meetings per year requiring overnight travel

Education/Certification Requirements

• A Bachelors degree is required

Preferred Requirements

• Results-driven mindset with a track record of exceeding sales targets

• Experience developing solutions for complex supply chain challenges
