Salary Range:  $97,479.90 - 126,478.46

Role Purpose Statement

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background in food production or the Corporate Catering Industry , with extensive operations, production and safety management experience managing large teams.

Main Accountabilities

1. Strategically plan, organize, and manage a department with regards to daily hours, schedules, productivity, quality and safety.
2. Responsible for department costs to budget through effective manpower planning, scheduling and overtime usage
3. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), safety, health, environmental and other regulations
4. Ensure on-time and accurate production in the preparation of food/equipment and catering of flights
5. Investigate customer quality issues, develop and implement corrective actions
6. Maintain an ongoing, positive and pro-active relationship with all internal and external customers
7. Attend the daily operations briefing
8. Ensure par levels of customer inventory and customer specific goods
9. Provide data for the development of an annual business plan and budgeting for the department
10. Ensure optimal deployment of human, technical and material resources in the department
11. Initiate and control continuous optimization of processes
Leadership
1. Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
2. Guide, motivate and develop the subordinate employees within the Human Resources Policy
3. Participates in coaching the expanded Global Performance System (GPS) process, as well as additional career development activities to enhance the effectiveness and potential of the team
4. Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)
5. Plan / Implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
6. Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Global Quality Standard (GQS), HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred 
2. Five to 10 years of culinary experience in hot and cold food production, operations management or a senior supervisory role within the food production industry
3. Experience in using and managing Variable Production Systems and schedules
4. Strong presentation, communication, training and interpersonal skills
5. Proven success in improving work processes and leading change in a complex, fast environment
6. Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
7. Demonstrable record of understanding and meeting customer expectations
8. Proven track record of understanding the drivers of product and labor cost variances
9. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer application
