Job Description

Flowers Early Learning, a high-quality preschool, is currently seeking a Family Advocate to support families with children ages 0–5. This position primarily serves Decatur, MI  and Cassopolis, MI with potential to serve other centers throughout the year.

Position Summary: Assists in planning and implementation of family engagement requirements to assure compliance with Performance Standards. Including: Family Partnership Agreements, recruitment, enrollment, attendance analysis & follow up, community out-reach and family engagement. Gathers resource information and makes referrals for family growth. Partners with families and staff to complete necessary Health requirements.

Job Type:  Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p

Rate of Pay:  HS/GED: $15.86 Family Services Credential: $17.12 AA: $18.40 BA or Higher: $20.94

Education Requirement:  Minimum – HS Diploma/GED with Two years’ experience in related field. Preferred - Associates Degree or Bachelors’ Degree in Social Services, Human Services, Family Services, related field or Family Service Credential with Two years’ experience in related field

Qualifications: Ability to write using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and to organize documents accurately. Ability to effectively communicate with community members and groups, managers, regulatory agencies, and families both individually and in group settings. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percentage and interpret and develop graphs. Ability to work independently as well as a team member. Must have a personal driving record with not more than 6 active points as determined by the Secretary of State.

Other Selection Criteria: All candidates must be age 18 or older, possess a valid driver’s license and their own reliable transportation, complete a physical examination, comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check, and pre-employment drug screen including a negative result for Amphetamines, Cannabinoids (including Marijuana/THC), Cocaine, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP). Marijuana is not legal at the federal level and is prohibited in the workplace or in one's system, even if legally prescribed.
