Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join our team. As a key leader in our organization, the CMO will work closely with the CEO and senior management to advance our mission and goals. This role will focus on overseeing patient care teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals. The CMO will provide clinical leadership while helping to guide the organization's vision for patient-centered care, improved health outcomes, and the delivery of cost-effective services.

In this leadership position, the CMO will be responsible for overseeing medical teams in areas such as utilization management, population health, safety and quality standards, and patient engagement. The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving health care delivery, enhancing access to care, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. The CMO will also support the organization's values and compliance policies, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the clinical spokesperson for the organization, articulating the mission and principles to both internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and other leadership team members to enhance and implement effective healthcare and IT systems that support organizational goals.
Lead efforts to achieve and maintain Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) certification.
Keep up to date with trends in healthcare administration by attending seminars, training sessions, and in-service programs.
Consult with patients, obtaining history, performing physical exams, and prescribing treatments.
Manage continuity of care for patients with long-term conditions and make referrals for specialized care when necessary.
Perform medical procedures as per qualifications and provide preventive health services, including immunizations and wellness exams.
Ensure that all medical records are accurately documented in accordance with professional standards.
Support the development and delivery of initiatives that empower clinical and quality teams, ensuring they have the resources and guidance they need to succeed.
Foster strong relationships with external partners, including organizations and municipalities, to ensure quality healthcare services.
Manage and oversee the clinical processes and administrative procedures to support organizational goals.
Qualifications and Experience

Current MD/DO licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
Current DEA and State Controlled Substance certifications.
A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
Experience in a public health or community clinic setting is preferred.
Previous experience as a Medical Director or completion of an accredited primary care residency program is desirable.
Board certification in Family Medicine is a plus.
Must hold a valid MA Driver's License.
Strong knowledge of electronic medical records systems is beneficial.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to exceed goals and a high level of business acumen, with a solid understanding of budgets, financial statements, and strategic planning.
