**Essential Duties**
- Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures
- Conducts thorough pre-trip, mid-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles being operated, in accordance with established company policies and procedures, reporting discrepancies immediately
- Load/unload trucks and containers, lift materials, and identify, label, count, receive, and issue freight
- Ensure that cargo is secured for transport in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws
- Operates a box truck in order to pick up and deliver customer freight in a variety of locations.
- Will prepare documents for pick-up and give information to dispatcher
- Pack and/or ship materials in compliance with DOT and hazardous materials regulations
- Maintain good housekeeping standards with focus on the care and custody of materials
- Prioritize and complete day-to-day activities as assigned
- Maintain telephone or PeopleNet contact with terminal dispatcher to receive instructions
- May be required to perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, light bulbs, and tire chains
- All other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
-High school diploma, or GED equivalent
-Two to three years driving experience required
-CDL Class B required

-Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
-Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, completes tasks on time or communicates alternate plans
-Treats people with respect; keeps commitments, inspires the trust of others, works with integrity and ethically, upholds organizational values
-Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
-Must be customer focused and represent Carlile in a professional and friendly manner
-Should have a mechanical aptitude
-Must be able to prioritize daily tasks and assignments
-Must be able to multitask and have excellent time management skills
-Must be able to drive in adverse weather conditions and in ice and snow, with the ability to chain-up
-Experience with lift gates, forklifts, and pallet jacks, preferred
-Previous material handling and HAZMAT experience
